How to clean dark floors with my Philips HomeRun vacuum cleaner robot

Published on 06 December 2023
To find out why your Philips HomeRun vacuum and mop robot may not clean your dark floors, read our article below.
XU series robots

Your robot is equipped with anti-drop sensors to detect stairs and other floor-level differences so it can avoid them. Dark floors may be mistakenly identified as stairs so your robot will not drive onto them.

To help your robot recognize the dark floor, make sure the room is well lit, by turning on the lights.

If the above solutions did not help solve the issue, contact us for further assistance.

Your 6000 Series robot uses an LDS radar navigation system. This technology is effective even in low-light environments since the machine sensor emits infrared light, which gets reflected by the ground and objects. The sensor has its own transmitting and receiving system, which works independently of the environment. However, it's important to note that direct sunlight can interfere with infrared light, so it's best not to use the robot in strong outdoor sunlight.
