How much time does an IPL treatment take?

Published on 25 August 2026

Philips Lumea IPL treatments can take just a few minutes for smaller areas, while larger areas may take longer but can be treated conveniently and effectively at home.

Details: The time needed for a Philips Lumea IPL treatment depends on the area you are treating. Smaller areas, such as underarms or the bikini line can usually be treated in just a few minutes, while larger areas such as legs will take longer.

Because Lumea is designed to treat larger areas efficiently, sessions can be completed comfortably at home. The recommended treatment schedule starts with one treatment every two weeks, followed by maintenance treatments once every four weeks to help maintain results. As hair regrowth reduces over time, less frequent treatments are required, making IPL an increasingly time-efficient part of your regular self-care routine.
