My Philips HomeRun vacuum cleaner robot is not charging

Published on 06 December 2023
If your Philips HomeRun vacuum and mop robot is not charging, find the possible causes and solutions in the article below.
XU series robots

For your 7000 and 3000 Series:
When the robot returns to its station, it starts charging automatically. The LEDs on the robot light up white or orange to indicate that the robot is charging. The white LED on the station of model XU7100 also lights up. If the robot is not charging, check the following:

  • Verify that you connected the station to the wall socket and switched on the robot.
  • Ensure the robot is correctly placed on the station. If the charging contacts are not aligned, your robot will not charge. Put the robot on the floor in front of the station with the water tank facing away from the station and push the home button; the robot will drive to the correct position on the station. If the robot is out of battery, position the robot directly on the charging contacts.
  • Check that the charging contact points on the robot and the station are not dirty.
  • The battery may need replacing. The minimum lifespan of the rechargeable battery is two years or 1000 charging cycles.

For your 6000 Series:

  • Confirm that the station is plugged into the wall socket and that the robot is turned on.
  • Make sure that the robot is properly positioned on the charging station. If it is even slightly off or if the charging contacts are misaligned, it may not charge.
  • Ensure that the charging contacts on both the robot and the station are clean.
  • If the temperature is below 8℃, the robot may activate low-temperature protection, so please wait until the temperature returns to normal before charging or using the robot.
  • If the battery lifespan has expired, it may need to be replaced.
  • Improper long-term storage can cause the battery to fail.
