Cleaning the filter

Your 1000 Series Bagless Philips Vacuum Cleaner has two filters, a motor protection filter and an exhaust filter. The motor protection filter is washable and we recommend regularly cleaning it. The exhaust filter is not washable, and we recommend replacing it every year.

Follow these simple steps to clean the motor protection filter:

  • Grab the handle and press the release button. Lift up and remove the bucket from the appliance.
  • Unlock the lid of the dust bucket and lift it to open (image 1).
  • Remove the filter and filter case by rotating it counter clock-wise and lifting it (image 2).
  • Remove the washable foam filter from the filter case.
  • Tap the filter against a bin and clean the filter case with a damp cloth.
  • Rinse the foam filter and squeeze it until clean water comes out. Note: Remember not to rinse the filter case.
  • Allow the filter to dry for 24 hours.
  • Reassemble all parts.

Note: for the best results, we recommend cleaning the motor protection filter every six weeks and replacing the filter every year.

Replacing the exhaust filter

The exhaust filter is on the back of your vacuum cleaner, behind a removable grille. While it is not necessary to clean this filter and it should not be washed, we strongly recommend replacing it every year to optimize your vacuum cleaner's performance.

Cleaning the dust bucket

After emptying the dust bucket you can easily clean it by rinsing it under the tap. Ensure the dust bucket is completely dry before placing it back.

Note: make sure you placed the filter and cyclone in the dust bucket.
