My Philips Ultrasonic Humidifier produces little or no mist

Published on 02 October 2025

If your Philips Ultrasonic Humidifier produces little or no mist, find the possible causes and solutions below.

The most comfortable RH (Relative Humidity) level range is between 40% to 60%. For your health and comfort, when no target RH is selected, Philips Humidifier humidifies the air continuously and automatically stops once 70% RH level is reached. When environmental RH is lower than 70%, the appliance will resume according to previous settings.

When the target RH is selected, the appliance also automatically stops once the selected target RH is reached. When environmental RH falls below the selected target RH, the appliance will resume according to previous settings.

When the humidity around the device is too high, the device will stop working because it may lead to mold growth.

Check if any foreign object blocks the nozzle (as indicated in image A) on the top of the device and remove it. Your Philips Humidifier should be placed on flat surface. When it’s placed on carpet or fluffy fabric may cause blocking at the bottom and result in no mist.

The humidification performance may be affected when the humidifier is not properly cleaned. Please clean your humidifier every three days and according to User Manual specific for your model.

Make sure the socket where your humidifier is plugged in functions correctly (try plugging a different appliance to that socket to check if it works).
