Blending result of my Avent Baby food maker is not fine enough

Published on 28 July 2026

Are the blending results of your Philips Avent baby food maker not fine enough? You can easily fix this with these simple solutions.

Keep blending

Blend the ingredients for a few more times. Do not blend continuously for more than 30 seconds.

Prepare the ingredients well

Wash and peel the ingredients. Cut the ingredients into small cubes no bigger than 1cm before steaming and blending them.

Perfect amount of food for blending

Increase or decrease the amount of food for blending

Steaming time

Add the correct amount of water for the advised steaming time. See chapter “ingredients and steaming time” in your manual for the correct steaming time.

Ingredients stick to the wall of the jar during blending

Keep the residue water inside the jar after steaming. Blend the residue water and the steamed ingredients into a perfect mixture. If you are only blending, add a suitable amount of drinking water to the ingredients. Blend into a perfect mixture for your lovely one.

Below are other frequently asked topics to help you with your appliance.

There are many reasons that may prevent the blend function from working properly. Below are common solutions.

  1. There is too much food in the jar. We advise that the max food volume for blending not exceed 400g.
  2. Make sure the jar is placed on the main unit correctly and the jar lid is locked onto the jar correctly.
  3. Check the ingredients and steaming time or recipe examples and choose ingredients that are appropriate for blending.
  4. You have been using the blending function continuously for more than 30 seconds. Stop blending and let the appliance cool down for a few seconds and then start blending again.

Plastic part fitting may be tight at first usage, but will fit well subsequently because of material characteristics. The opening of water tank lid/jar lid/sieve will become smooth after several times of use.

The jar assembly is not sealed; water can enter the jar assembly through the gap between the plastic base. Water can stay inside this area during washing. The jar is designed with a hole to allow water to easily drain out and aid faster drying.
