docking station for iPod/iPhone/iPad

I can't believe some of the negative reviews I've just read ? I have just been given one if these as a Christmas present, and I have to say I am so happy with it, it's has an AMAZING sound for such a small device ! It also is made to a very high quality finish. Its very heavy for its size ,I would probably say that's because it has a large amplifier inside & because of the outside steel looking case. I can't believe how loud it will play with no distortion, very good value for money & some very clever features ,you can't go wrong !

Love this little radio for my ipad, iphone and ipod. Has great sound for the kitchen and feels robust - not cheap plastic! Has some weight to it. Also produces quite clear sound quality. Top marks!

i tested several ipad/phone docks in the apple store, I chose this one because it looks great, the metal finish, colour and it's a good size. the sound quality is surprisingly good considering the size and the price. I have only given 4 stars for ease of use as I sometimes find it difficult to get the ipad into position but am willing to take some responsibility for this. It is proving very handy being able to dock and charge the ipad and phone simultaneously

Very good performance and good controls, and it does work as an internet radio using an appropriate iPhone app (there are a number free). The app needs to be playing when the iPhone is docked, and can then be 'slept' (& woken) using the remote/sleep etc. Philips should point this out as we needed an internet bedside radio (like others) because we have poor FM & DAB reception. Niggles are that the handbook is poor in unnecessary ways - for example the controls diagram is not page-referenced and important things like what the alarm actually DOES (for many people like us we just want an automatic radio - so we want it to stay on once 'alarmed') are not included. And I am actually not sure if the app is still working in the silent state (so is it downloading from the internet, counting towards one's limit? - I think not but again the handbook should say).

Whatever I try the sound is always muffled. I start playing an mp3 file on my iphone, and the sound is lovely, then I place on the dock and the sound becomes muffled. I expect much more than this from Philips, and especially because it is offered in Apple Stores.

The unit has a nice finish and good sounds but the remote it made of "inexpensive" plastic, you have to press the buttons twice quite often even if you are at 20cm from the unit. If you are looking for an iOS app to control the dock, forget about it. Also the dock has no options to gradually increase or decrease the volume on timers, you need to use the manual in order to be able to program it. Also the luminosity of the display had too few steps (5) and it's not able to auto-adapt. Also, you need to buy batteries in order to keep the programs in memory after a power failure.
