DC315 Alarm Clock radio for iPod/iPhone

The Philips Clock Radio DC315 is a great little unit for use in a bedroom or kitchen. The built in sub gives great warmth and depth to the sounds stored on your ipod and has enough volume to fill a reasonably sized room without distorting the sound. Not only do you get great sound but you also get a very easy to read display that doesn't light up your room at night and an alarm that can play either the radio or music from your ipod. Our unit has aslo been on a few holidays with us and has proven to be pretty robust.

Had been trying to find a small clock radio that would charge and play iphone/ipod touch for my son's bedroom. Tried many in shops etc to find that the sound was so "tinney" it was irritating to listen to. As this unit had a built in Sub Woofer, I decided to give it a go even though I tended not to buy Phillips brand. Wow! Even though I was testing it in one of the larger electrical superstores, the difference in the quality of sound was amazing so we bought it there and then. This has now tempted me to look at other Phillips goods when previously I wouldn't have given them a second glance. Only down side to the unit is the somewhat fiddley buttons located on the side of the unit which are difficult to use unless you turn the unit to the side so you can see which is which. However, for the deep bass and clear treble this unit produces, it's well worth the effort.

ipod and iPhone it has the addapters for other devices as well personally I would recommend it to my friends.

Allows you to wake up gently by starting with a low volume and building up gradually. Excellent for charging iPhone/iPod overnight so it's fully charged in the morning. Decent sound quality if using as docking station for music. Overall this Is a very good product.

As an ipod dock this is great, I sue it in the kitchen rather than as an alarm clock. The radio reception is not great though often getting white noise in the background.

I've used this for a couple of weeks now and it's a good product. It's easy to set-up and looks good. Great to have my phone fully charged for the morning without lots of cables everywhere. I'm not sure if others suffer the same, but my iPhone interferes with a normal clock radio, sending funny noises to the speaker. But it doesn't with this one, so good news there. I like the way the radio comes on gradually, rather than straight on at full volume.

I love the idea of this clock radio with ipod connection but I have had problems with the clock. It loses on average about 5 minute per 10 days and I am having to constantly reset the time to the correct GMT. Apart from that the functionality is quite good but it is fiddly to set the time as all the controls are on the side. Then to turn the volume up and down you have two buttons on the front which aren't set apart from the tuning button - so after the alarm goes off when I am trying to turn the volume down or up I nearly always press the wrong button by mistake and knock the tuning off the radio station by mistake. Simply bad design. Also I cannot wake up to my iPod music ... only the radio.
