Kuwait,Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), a global leader in health technology, has appointed Bader Sultan and Brothers Co. (BSBC) an innovative healthcare provider, as the distributor of its entire portfolio of Connected Care solutions in Kuwait.

BSBC will manage all hospital patient monitoring, therapeutic care and emergency solutions.  Philips, together with BSBC, will be delivering solutions in line with Kuwait's 2035 Vision, which aims to strengthen investment in high-quality healthcare.

The acute care environment, from emergency through to ICU and beyond is becoming increasingly challenging with patient conditions ever changing and becoming more complex. Clinicians need to be able to detect early signs of patient change; interpret the clinical implications; and initiate, interventions rapidly.

Gaps, delays and inaccuracies in patient data, owing to complicated coordination across care settings, leave already overburdened care teams struggling to put the hidden pieces together; their clinical confidence can grow weary, data can be missed and consequences are high.

From admission to discharge, Philips’ acute patient management solutions overcome these challenges by providing patient monitoring and predictive analytics to deliver actionable clinical insights at all points of care.

We are delighted to collaborate with Bader Sultan & Brothers Co. in Kuwait. Through this partnership, Philips will offer its most innovative solutions in Connected Care to improve patient and caregiver experience in the region. The synergy between the companies will support and contribute to the national ambitions and aspirations in the healthcare sector; supporting patients and providing caregivers with greater optimization and seamless workflows.”

Acute care patient management solutions

Acute care teams depend on actionable patient data to fine-tune treatment decisions. When that data is unavailable or unclear, patient clinical outcomes are at risk. Acute patient management from Philips, provides continuous clinical surveillance, advanced interoperability, and predictive insights.

These systems improve connectivity, allowing healthcare teams to collaborate across care settings, identify insights or indicators that could impact treatment decisions and, limit communication gaps between teams. Through the integration of these systems, healthcare teams have seen a 63% reduction  in patient transfers to the ICU*.

General ward

The general care floor encompasses a wide range of patients with varying conditions and needs. Sicker patients, unexpected clinical deterioration and lower nurse-to-patient ratios put increased stress on healthcare teams. Tailored to the organizations needs and goals, Philips’ General Ward Solutions, including, patient monitors, and event notification systems help identify potential patient deterioration, so that care teams can respond faster.

eICU

During the COVID-19 pandemic, rapid acute care was vital, but even in today’s healthcare environment, it’s essential for hospital systems to effectively extend resources, expertise, and actionable data wherever care is needed. The Philips eICU  enables clinicians to interact with staff at the bedside and consult on individual care – even from an offsite location. This means one centralized specialized critical care team can manage a large number of ICU locations, and exchange health information electronically, in real time.

The Philips’ suite of connected care solutions will deliver precision, accuracy, and quality to help healthcare organizations in Kuwait shift care from the hospital to the home. And with BSBC’s wide knowledge of the market, efficient service organization and close collaboration with key decision makers, Philips is convinced it has found the perfect partner to deliver its robust portfolio of connected care solutions in the Kuwaiti market.
