How to descale my SENSEO® Viva Café

1. Pour half a bottle of liquid descaler into the empty water tank
2. Fill-up the water tank with fresh water
3. Place the water tank back on to your SENSEO® Viva Café

1. Press the power button to turn on your SENSEO® Viva Café
2. Place the 1-cup pod holder with a used coffee pod in the coffee machine. Close the lid and make sure it is properly locked
3. Place an empty jug under the coffee spout to collect the descaling mixture
4. Press the 1-cup and 2-cup button simultaneously to start the first descaling cycle
5. The descaling solution will come out in intervals
6. The power button will flash rapidly to indicate that the first descaling cycle is finished

The first descaling cycle is now finished, continue with the second descaling cycle.

Note: Never interrupt the descaling process.

1. Pour the other half of the bottle in the water tank
2. Fill-up the water tank with fresh water and place the water tank back on to your SENSEO® Viva Café
3. Replace the 1-cup pod holder with the 2-cup pod holder and place another used coffee pod. Close the lid and make sure it is properly locked
4. Place the empty jug under the coffee spout
5. Press the 1-cup and 2-cup button simultaneously to start the second descaling cycle
6. The descaling solution will come out in intervals
7. The power button will flash rapidly to indicate that the second descaling cycle is finished

All descaling cycles are now finished. Start rinsing the appliance to remove any descaling solution.

1. Replace the 2-cup pod holder with an empty 1-cup pod holder. Close the lid and make sure it is properly locked
2. Rinse the water tank under the tap
3. Fill the water tank with fresh water
4. Place an empty jug under the coffee spout
5. Press the 1-cup and 2-cup button simultaneously to start the first rinsing cycle
6. The solution will come out in intervals
7. The power button will flash rapidly to indicate that the first rinsing cycle is finished

1. Rinse the water tank under the tap
2. Fill the water tank with fresh water
3. Place an empty jug under the coffee spout
4. Press the 1-cup and 2-cup button simultaneously to start the second rinsing cycle
5. The solution will come out in intervals
6. Once the complete descaling and rinsing cycles have ended the appliance will switch itself off to indicate that the descaling cycle is finished

You have now successfully completed the descaling procedure. Your SENSEO® Viva Café is now ready to brew that perfect cup of coffee again.
