How do I descale my SENSEO® Up?

When the calc button is lit up, it indicates that you need to descale your machine. Follow the steps below:

1. Pour half a bottle of liquid descaler into the empty water tank
2. Fill the water tank further up with fresh water to the maximum indication
3. Place the water tank back on to your SENSEO® Up

1. Place 1-cup pod holder with a used coffee pod. Close the lid and make sure it is closed properly
2. Put the water tank back into the machine
3. Remove the drip tray and place an empty bowl/jug under the coffee spout
4. Start the descaling cycle by pressing the two coffee buttons simultaneously
5. All lights start flashing to indicate that the descaling cycle has started

During the descaling cycle, the descaling solution comes out of the machine at intervals.

Once the cycle is finished the coffee buttons will blink rapidly.

1. Remove the used coffee pod. Close the lid and make sure it is properly locked.
2. Rinse the water tank under the tap
3. Fill the water tank with fresh water to the MAX indication
4. Place an empty bowl/jug under the coffee spout
5. Start the descaling cycle by pressing the two coffee buttons simultaneously
6. All lights start flashing to indicate that the rinsing cycle has started

During the rinsing cycle, the water comes out of the machine at intervals.

Once the cycle is finished the coffee buttons will blink rapidly.

Repeat this steps once more to complete the descaling procedure.

Once finished the appliance will switch off automatically.
